Competition to raise awareness for Food Bank of Iowa
NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers Michael Annett and Matt DiBenedetto will face off at the Nationwide Insurance campus in downtown Des Moines on Thurs., July 29 all for a good cause. The drivers will compete in a challenge with Nationwide associates to raise awareness for the Food Bank of Iowa.
What: Nationwide Insurance associates and NASCAR drivers Annett and DiBenedetto will compete in driver and employee teams, racing to pack a sack with food to raise awareness for Food Bank of Iowa’s Backpack Buddies program. Annett and DiBenedetto will be available for interviews and photography following the challenge.

When: Thurs., July 29, Noon Central Time
Where: Nationwide’s downtown Des Moines campus, south side of 1100 Locust Street building.
The Food Bank of Iowa provides emergency food for an estimated 76,100 people annually and 47 percent of those people have to choose between paying for food and paying for their rent or mortgage. Nationwide associates have been collecting items for the Food Bank of Iowa for the past two weeks. Earlier this year associates donated 8,500 lbs of food and $6,200 to the Food Bank. In addition, the Nationwide Insurance Foundation provided a $50,000 grant to support the Food Bank of Iowa.
The NASCAR Nationwide Series will be at Iowa Speedway on Saturday, July 31 for the US Cellular 250. Coverage beings at 6 p.m. Central Time on ESPN2.
