JOHN DEERE SALES AND MARKETING BRANCH SIGNS ON
TO PRESENT ‘U.S. CELLULAR 250’ AT IOWA SPEEDWAY
John Deere’s sales and marketing branch for agricultural and turf products in the northwest U.S. has approved a sponsorship agreement with Iowa Speedway to join Iowa-based Northland Oil in presenting the track’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Saturday, July 31.
The event, which is now titled the ‘U.S. Cellular 250 presented by John Deere & Northland Oil’, is the final major event in Iowa Speedway’s 2010 racing season. It is expected to attract the largest crowd of the year.
“We are thrilled to welcome John Deere, a well known and respected global brand, to the Iowa Speedway,” said Chuck Spicer, vice president for sales and marketing for the Newton speed plant. “With great promotional support from companies such as John Deere and Northland Oil, we are able to continue growing our ‘big events’ like the ‘U.S. Cellular 250’.”
“The opportunity to promote the brand at Iowa Speedway’s largest annual event was very attractive to John Deere,” said Walt Snell, the tactical sales manager in Deere’s North West Sales Branch. “Many Iowans own John Deere equipment, especially in agriculture, he said, and Deere is one of Iowa’s largest manufacturing employers. Many of our customers, dealers, suppliers and employees are avid race fans. This sponsorship provides John Deere an opportunity to support a major racing event in Iowa.”
Iowa Speedway is located 30 miles east of Des Moines on Interstate 80, just south of Exit 168 in Newton. Ticketing information and complete event schedules are available at the track’s official website, www.iowaspeedway.com
