:About USAC Midget Racing:
Midget racing involves the use of small automobile frames, creating a power-to-weight ratio. It started back in the 1930s and is one of the oldest forms of automobile racing.
USAC stands for United States Auto Club - which will celebrate its 54th season of auto racing in 2009. USAC continues to be the most diversified auto racing sanctioning body in the world; it has conducted over 275 races in its numerous professional divisions, as well as special events in 2005. To date, USAC has presented over 7,070 events, having paid out in excess of $200 million in prize money since its first event in January 1956.
:About Indy Racing League Series:
The Indy Racing League serves as the sanctioning body for the IndyCar Series, the premier open-wheel series in the United States and the Indy Pro Series, which serves as an essential stepping-stone for drivers striving to reach the IndyCar Series.
IndyCar Series cars are open-wheel, single-seat, and open-cockpit. The cars feature a normally aspirated 3.5-liter V-8 engine optimized to run at 8,200 RPM with aprox. 650 horsepower.
