Race fans have seen V-8 powered cars race on the oval so now come see race cars with V-8’s race on the speedway “Road Course” as well as open wheel winged indy style race cars on the “Road Course”. These along with a very wide selection of sports racing cars in various different categories. This is road racing at its best at the speedway. 

 

The SCCA is a club member organization dedicated to the promotion of auto racing at all levels. The Festivals showcase two of SCCA’s types of race cars. The Ground Pounders include V8 powered race cars of various makes and models from Corvettes and Mustangs to tube frame stock cars. The Hot Wings group features winged formula race cars including Formula Atlantics, Formula Continentals, Formula Mazdas, and several others. The Regional/National racing includes many other types of race cars including Showroom Stock, Improved Touring, Production, Gran Touring, and Sports Racers. There is something for everyone’s race car interest.

 

Along with the on-track racing, DMVR SCCA is sponsoring two activities in the parking lot open to the public: a Street Survival School and a Solo Autocross. The Street Survival School is an opportunity for teen drivers to get one-on-one instruction in various driving situations to learn car control and handling. This is open to unrestricted licensed or permitted drivers age 16 to 21. Pre-registration is required. The Solo Autocross is a one car at a time, timed event to negotiate a course defined with cones. This is open to unrestricted licensed drivers. Cars must pass a basic safety tech inspection.
