FAQ FOR INDYCAR/ARCA IOWA SPEEDWAY EVENT WEEKEND – JULY 17-18
When do tickets go on sale?
There will be limited seating options available for the July 17-18 race weekend at Iowa Speedway, due to COVID-19 social distancing guidelines. Fans that have already purchased grandstand tickets will have their specific seat locations reassigned in order follow safe social distancing. For those who have not previously purchased tickets for the weekend, the remaining tickets available will go on sale beginning at 9 am CT on Friday, June 26. Fans will be able to purchase tickets online at www.iowaspeedway.com or by calling 866.787.8946 on June 26.
If I purchased tickets before, are they still good for the weekend?
Iowa Speedway will honor all previously-purchased tickets for the July 17-18 race weekend, including season tickets. In order to follow safe social distancing guidelines, some seat locations and parking areas have been reassigned. Iowa Speedway will email tickets to existing ticketholders for the July 17-18 weekend and will mail printed tickets to those that do not have an email address on their account. Parking and camping tags will also be printed and distributed beginning July 1. Any ticketholder that has questions about their seat location should call the Iowa Speedway ticket office at 866.787.8946.
What if I purchased a ticket to the July 17-18 race weekend before but I now feel uncomfortable attending?
Guests that have purchased a ticket but are not comfortable attending an event will be provided a refund. Ticketholders should call the Iowa Speedway ticket office at 866.787.8946 no later than July 1 to speak to a ticketing representative.
Should I not attend the race weekend if I’m feeling sick?
Iowa Speedway and INDYCAR encourage anyone that has any symptoms of COVID-19, has been exposed to COVID-19 or is awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test to not attend the July 17-18 race weekend. Symptoms can include fever, muscle pain, cough, headache, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, chills or repeated shaking with chills. Anyone experiencing these symptoms or other potential symptoms of COVID-19 of concern to you should contact their health care provider.
Will there be a health screening during the July 17-18 weekend at Iowa Speedway?
Yes, all guests will be screened in their vehicles with contactless temperature checks before entering the parking areas each day. Any guest that has a temperature of 100.4 Fahrenheit or higher will not be permitted to enter the facility.
What happens if a guest isn’t cleared through the health and temperature screening?
If a guest is not cleared through the health screening protocols, their vehicle will be directed to a secondary area where they will be screened again. If they do not clear the secondary health screening, none of the guests in the vehicle will be permitted to enter the facility and each ticket purchaser in the group will be provided a refund on their ticket purchase(s).
What other health and safety measures will be in place for the July 17-18 race weekend?
Hand sanitizer and face coverings will be distributed to each guest when they enter the track, multiple handwashing and hand sanitizing stations will be placed around the track and enhanced cleaning and sanitizing procedures will be implemented throughout the facility over the course of the weekend. When entering the ticket gates each day for security screening, all guests will pass through a contactless magnetometer and personnel will ask guests to open their own bag and move their belongings as needed when conducting bag checks.
Will guests be allowed to leave the track and re-enter through the ticket gates later in the day?
Yes, guests can exit the facility and return to their vehicles throughout each day and their valid tickets for that day’s activities will be scanned again when they re-enter through the ticket gates. All guests that leave Iowa Speedway property in their vehicles will be required to undergo a health screening and contactless temperature check in their vehicles when they re-enter the parking areas.
Will guests have access to the infield/garage area at Iowa Speedway during the July 17-18 race weekend?
No, only essential racing personnel will have access to the infield and garage areas during the race weekend.
What if I have a large group attending the race weekend?
The maximum number of tickets assigned for each group during the July 17-18 race weekend is six. Groups of seven or more should contact the Iowa Speedway ticket office at 866.787.8946 to review seating options with a ticketing representative.
Will guests be required to wear a face covering during the July 17-18 event at Iowa Speedway?
All guests entering Iowa Speedway during the weekend will be provided a complimentary face covering to wear while they are in attendance at the event. It is strongly encouraged for all guests to wear an appropriate face covering, but fans will not be required to wear one during the race weekend.
Will there be restrictions on camping and in the luxury suites at Iowa Speedway during the July 17-18 race weekend?
Safe social distancing protocols will also be in place for suite ticketholders and for campers at Iowa Speedway during the weekend.
Will concession areas and bathrooms be open during the July 17-18 race weekend?
Food concession areas and bathrooms will be open and operating at Iowa Speedway during the weekend and guests will be instructed to practice safe social distancing in all areas of the facility. There will be limited menus and food preparation done onsite during the weekend. There will be no buffet or self-serve food options available and concession areas will feature “grab & go” food only. All concessions will feature cashless transactions wherever possible.
Will there be restrictions on any fan experiences during the race weekend?
In order to follow safe social distancing guidelines, some additional fan activities will not be available for the July 17-18 weekend. There will not be any concerts held at the track during the weekend and Fan Walk and Paddock Passes will not be available. Fans that have purchased Fan Walk or Paddock Passes will be contacted by the Iowa Speedway ticket office.
What guidelines will be in place for camping?
Both terrace camping and general camping will be available at Iowa Speedway for the July 17-18 weekend. Specific camping locations may be adjusted due to COVID-19 social distancing guidelines. Campers may arrive on Thursday, July 16 beginning at 12:00 pm CT and must depart by 12:00 pm CT on Sunday, July 19. Campers will be screened in their vehicles with contactless temperature checks before entering the camping areas. Campers that leave Iowa Speedway in their vehicles during the weekend will be required to undergo a health screening and contactless temperature check in their vehicles when they re-enter the camping areas. Campers are encouraged to remain in their own camp area during the weekend in order to observe safe social distancing and may not enter other areas unless invited and following social distancing guidelines.
Will health and safety measures be in place for employees and vendors?
All employees, vendors, volunteers and workers at Iowa Speedway during the July 17-18 weekend will also be screened with contactless temperature checks each day before they are permitted to enter the facility. All personnel will be required to observe safe social distancing and anyone that interacts with Iowa Speedway guests during the weekend will be required to wear a face covering.
