Iowa Speedway is always striving to create new and unique experiences for every member of the family. Founded in 2015, our Youth Program is designed to show fans the forces behind auto racing through Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) based activities.
Crash Course presented by U.S. Cellular, located on the Turn 1 side of the Concourse, is Iowa Speedway’s race day activation hub for kids. Using hands on experiments, Crash Course helps to decipher the physics of racing for fans of all ages and experience levels. Kids are invited to try their hand at Pit Crew duties, using our tire changer. Alternatively, for those preferring auto design to lug nuts, Lego cars are available for building and racing down our ramp, where the concepts of "downforce" and "drag" are on full display.
In addition to Crash Course, each race weekend features a host of kid-friendly activities. Miniature golf, a tire changing simulator, airbrush tattoos, oversized games, caricatures, and an exclusive, kids only, driver Q&A session are just a few of the offerings!

Beginning in 2017, NASCAR launched an industry-wide initiative granting free Single Event Tickets for fans aged 12 and under (with a ticketed parent) to all NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series events. Iowa Speedway extended this offering to all six event days and is pleased to bring this back for the 2020 season. Please note that free Youth Tickets are for Grandstand seats only and are not offered in the Newton Club, Suite Tower, or in Terrace Camping. To purchase Youth Tickets, please call or visit the Iowa Speedway Ticket Office; on race days, fans may also visit Ticket Booths 1 and 2. Children must be present during purchase, and Iowa Speedway Ticketing Staff must validate the full-price purchase of an adult ticket for every two Youth Tickets sold. For more information on Youth Tickets call the Iowa Speedway Ticket Office at 866.787.8946.
